Avant Deux du Haut Anjou

A group of traditional music and dances

The Avant Deux du Haut Anjou was founded in 1979 by Anne Faurot. Its roots lie in western France, in the Pays Segréen region.

The Segréen, also known as Anjou Bleu, is a region stretching from the borders of Brittany to the rivers Sarthe and Mayenne. Its name is inspired by the blue of the slate, the sky and the rivers.

A CIOFF-accredited group

Since 2010, the Avant Deux du Haut Anjou has been certified by the CIOFF (International Council of Organisations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts).

This is recognition of its ability to provide high-quality representation in France and around the world.

He has also been a member of the FAPSGAM (Fédération Anjou Poitou Saintonge Guyane Antilles Mascareignes) since 1984.

Dance and music of Anjou

A folklore full of contrasts

Our folklore is characterised by gentleness and elegance, combined with liveliness and dynamism.

A constantly evolving repertoire

The Avant Deux du Haut Anjou has set itself the goal of respecting tradition while also making it spectacular, popular and appealing by using the most modern entertainment techniques.

Through research, collecting, and meetings, we have rediscovered certain dances such as the Avant Deux du Tremblay, a five-figure quadrille that is the origin of our name.
